Launching A New Chapter

Aug 29, 2025 | News and Updates

Dear Conserve The Point supporters,

You Helped Conserve The Point—Now Connect With Its Future

Our mission has grown—and so have we.

For more than 20 years, the community effort behind Conserve The Point has united to protect the natural beauty at the end of Topsail Island from development. Now that land is permanently preserved, thanks to the hard work of the NC Coastal Land Trust which purchased the property for conservation in the spring of 2025.

Here at Conserve The Point-Topsail, our work is evolving from protection to care.

We remain committed to the preservation of the Point for future generations — we plan to accomplish that by helping people connect with the nature and land that our community worked so hard to save. We remain committed to working alongside the NC Coastal Land Trust as they manage and steward this beloved property, now known as the South Topsail Preserve.

To launch this new chapter, we’ve updated our website and logo to match our renewed focus and direction.

A logo that honors where we’ve been and reflects where we are going.

Our updated logo honors our past while capturing our forward focus: clean, clear, and built for the digital spaces where we connect with supporters, volunteers, and partners. You’ll notice that our organizational name, sand dunes and sea oats continue in this logo. In our new logo, we’ve added the colors of a sunset to highlight the endless sunsets of The Point which are so beloved by residents and visitors.

A new website built for connection.

Our redesigned website makes it easier than ever to explore who we are, volunteer, sign up for events, and learn about the history and future of the land this community cares for.

Same mission. Renewed purpose.

We’re still grounded in our belief that the land matters and that community is key to preserving it today and tomorrow. We’re building something to last: a community of stewards and supporters for The Point in partnership with the NC Coastal Land Trust.

Thank you for helping us get here.
This transformation is only possible because of the decades of support from people like you. Together, this community protected this land. Now, we invite you to join us in learning more about it and helping to take care of it.

Explore our new website and get involved at www.conservethepoint.org.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in the future!

Warmest regards,

Michele Rivest,

President, Board of Directors
