The Point has been saved. Now we must care for it—together.

In Spring 2025, the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust purchased and permanently conserved The Point—an extraordinary stretch of wild coastal land at the southern tip of Topsail Island. This landmark success would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our community.

Conserve The Point-Topsail played a pivotal role in this achievement by supporting the Coastal Land Trust’s “Save The South End” fundraising campaign.  Together, we helped raise $1.6 million in community donations of the $8 million needed to protect this beloved land.

Today, the work continues. With The Point now preserved in perpetuity, we turn our focus to stewardship—ensuring that this rare coastal habitat remains wild, healthy, and protected for generations to come.

With conservation secured, we are now focused on the long-term care of The Point. Your donation helps:

– Ensure the ongoing conservation and stewardship of The Point
– Support habitat protection for nesting sea turtles, shorebirds, and other wildlife
– Maintain public access for walking, birding, and quiet enjoyment
– Support the South Topsail Stewards Program—a volunteer initiative dedicated to shoreline monitoring, education, and habitat conservation.
– Fund interpretive signage, conservation outreach, and environmental education
